MCRC’s 4th Annual All 4 Her Event June 24th

MCRC’s 4th Annual All 4 Her Event June 24th

I wanted to pass this event along. MCRC, one of our United Way funded agencies here in Milton, is holding their 4th annual All 4 Her 5K walk/run on June 24th.

MCRC’s All 4 Her 5k is a family-friendly fundraiser that the whole community can participate. In this 5k, you choose your own adventure – You choose whether you run, walk, roll or stroll and you choose what time and where. On Saturday June 24th participate your way and participate virtually or join us for a 5K walk in the beautiful Milton community!

All funds raised through All 4 Her will go directly to supporting MCRC’s She Can! programs. She Can! programs are free, accessible programs that are girl centered and designed to empower and uplift girls in our community.

We are fundraising so that we can expand our She Can! programs and reach more girls in our community. In 2023, we want to increase the number of girls in our programs from 600 to 1000 and offer programs to support mental health and wellness.

Please join the community on Saturday June 24th and register TODAY for your team!

Register at https://mcrc.on.ca/5k/ and help change a young girls life.

Halton Region Community Investment Fund

In the next of his series of videos, Regional Chair Gary Carr highlights the value of just some of the organizations that benefit from the Halton Region Community Investment Fund.

The Halton Region Community Investment Fund (HRCIF) supports non-profit community health and social service programs aligned with strategic directions in The Citizens’ Priorities – Halton Region’s 2011-2014 Action Plan.

HRCIF provides:

– one-time grants for a maximum of 1 year and up to $20,000 that fund community health and social service programs aligned with funding priorities for short-term, time-limited, small capital and/or innovative projects.

– multi-year funding aligned with the term of Council and up to $125,000/year to non-profit, charitable, community health and social service programs aligned with funding priorities.

The next call for proposals will be in 2013 for one-time grants and 2015 for multi-year funding.

In this video he shows what the investment fund can do for two local Halton organizations, one of which is MCRC (Milton Community Resource Centre)  As part of my official duties as local councillor for the Town of Milton, I am a board member of MCRC and very impressed at the quality of child care they provide the children.

Have a look at the video and if you want any information on the Halton Region Community Investment Fund, you can send me an email mike@mikecluett.ca

MCRC Fun Fair June 4th

One of the pleasures of my council job is to sit on the board of a number of organizations. Milton Community Resource Centre (MCRC) is one of them.

From the MCRC website:

Milton Community Resource Centre (MCRC) is a Not–for-profit, multi-service organization that provides services to children and families of Milton and the surrounding communities. Through our Ontario Early Years Centre and our Family Resource programs we provide early learning programs for children, their parents and caregivers at minimal or no cost to participants. MCRC’s parent resource library offers a variety resources and workshops including access to our parent educators.

Through our Licensed Child Care programs, MCRC provides quality early learning and care at an affordable cost and subsidy is available for eligible families. Collaboratively with Halton Region Children Services, MCRC operates The Halton Resource Connection, which provides training, support and resources to individuals and organizations working with children and youth.

This June 4th they will be holding their annual FUN FAIR day at Victoria Park (by Milton Town Hall) and they are looking for door prizes and silent auction items.  If you are a business owner or employee looking for a good organization to support and would like to donate some goods or services to the FUN FAIR day, please email me mike@mikecluett.ca

The FUN FAIR is held on the same day as the Downtown Milton Street Festival and Im sure there will be HUNDREDS of people attending and it will be a blast.  Bring your kids for a great morning of fun before the street festival starts.

Thanks in advance everyone!
