Mike Cluett has been a resident of Milton since 2003.  In 2007 he was appointed to Milton’s 150th Anniversary Committee to plan celebrations & events that included what we now know as Milton’s Downtown Street Festival.  Mike was elected to Milton Town Council in 2010 as the choice of almost 80% of the voters.  In 2014, Mike realized Milton needed a strong voice at Halton Region and was overwhelmingly elected to the office of Local & Regional Councillor to represent south Milton. During his first term along with his fellow Regional Councillors, Mike worked hard to increase Milton’s voice and added 2 more council positions for Halton.  Then in 2018 Mike was once again re-elected with over 80% of the vote to represent the new ward 3 in South East Milton.

Along with his wife Pat and their two children Anthony and Miranda, they enjoy the friendly atmosphere, downtown core and local events which define this great community.

Mike hosts a regular current affairs program on YourTV Halton called “Local Matters” where he and his guests discuss important issues in Milton & north Halton.

As an active member of the Milton community, Mike Cluett is a long time volunteer for the United Way of Halton & Hamilton, a board member for Milton Community Resource Centre (MCRC), organizes the annual Hope In High Heels event for Halton Women’s Place and volunteers actively for the Tiger Jeet Singh Foundation and the annual Miracle on Main Street which supports Halton Women’s Place, Salvation Army and donates tens of thousands of toys to Hamilton’s Children’s Hospital every year.

As a member of Milton Town Council, he has been a common sense voice as Milton continues to grow while ensuring the delivery of efficient, cost-effective services for taxpayers.  Mike is outspoken in his advocacy for Milton at all levels of government and always accessible to residents.

Mike Cluett is currently a member of many committees both at the Town of Milton & Halton Region including Halton Region’s Planning & Public Works Committee, the Golden Horseshoe Food & Farming Alliance, the Waste Management Site Advisory Committee, Conservation Halton Board of Directors and chairs the Milton’s Economic Development Advisory Committee.
