Street Festival this Saturday June 6 2009

The list of the entertainers is out for this weekends 3rd Annual Street Festival.  All the details can be found at the Milton DBIA website .

One of my personal favourites The Randalls will be playing again along with dozens of other entertainers and bands throughout the day.  If you were there last year, you’ll know what I mean that there is no shortage of things to do.

The fun starts at 3pm and goes until midnight.  Milton Transit will be free that day, courtesy of Mattamy Homes, so if you can avoid taking the car it would be great as parking in and around will be pretty tough.

Here’s a copy of the bus schedule for the day.

Whether its to take a nice walk down main street and partake of the vendors or if you want to kick back and listen to some good entertainment, it is really a great way to spend an afternoon taking in what makes this town as great as it is.

Hope to see you there!!!!

Even with Milton transit being free, no-one will ride it.

  2. There is no such thing as a free ride. For more on this and Mattamy, visit http://www.oakvillehomes.wordpress.com We will be at the event handing out information sheets.

I sure hope everyone had a great time at the Street Festival!! I was driving back through town, after my morning at the Optimist Club Fishing Derby (story at http://MiltonBlog.ca) and I could not believe the number of people milling about downtown. I saw hundreds of people walking to Main Street from all parts of town, and the streets were jammed with cars for blocks around. I never did see a Milton Transit bus in the 20 minutes it took me to navigate my way around the area.

Looking forward to comments from people who managed to get there for the festivities!!

  4. Did anyone get the information that LN was handing out at the street festival?

Nope. Didn’t get anything from anyone on that particular issue. Sounds like LN has lots of talk, no action.

I have to eat some crow now (let me get the salt shaker).

I said earlier that I didn’t think there would ride the transit during the Downtown Festival…..

“Even with Milton transit being free, no-one will ride it.” – Me

As it turns out, I saw 1 Milton Transit bus on my way in to the festival at Ontario & Main and it was packed.

Never let it be said that I don’t admit it when I am wrong.

All we have to do now is have council KEEP the free ridership of the transit system on a long term basis and we’re set. 🙂

  7. Use it or lose it. Thats what council thinks of the transit system.

Funny how these are the guys who spent 3 million dollars of our money and theyre now saying use it or lose it.

If council would take a moment and talk to people instead of their buddies they would know they made a 3 million dollar mistake.

So… 3 million wasted on the buses, 2 salary increases in 3 years, 1 million dollars on the glass wall.

Not looking good for these incumbents. The last thing theyll be doing is running on their record.

We really need a new council at townhall!
